6th Retreat of Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1270/2 ELAINE – Electrically Active Implants

Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and Ms Lisa Schoebel (PhD student) participated at the 6th Retreat of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) SFB 1270/2 “ELAINE – Electrically Active Implants” held on 29-31 August 2022 at Schloss & Gut Ulrichshusen.  CRC research activities focus on a new family of electrically active implants aiming at the regeneration of bone and cartilage, and implants for deep brain stimulation to treat movement disorders. The CRC is led by University of Rostock with participation of researchers from other Universities in some of the individual projects. Our Institute is part of Project B01 “Electrically conductive and piezoactive materials for multifunctional implants for bone and cartilage regeneration” in collaboration with the group of Prof. Hermann Seitz, Chair for Microfluidics at Univ. of Rostock. On the the last day of the retreat, Mrs. Bettina Martin, Minister for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of the State of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, visited the retreat and participated in the discussions during the poster session.
