BBCE Summer School hosted by the FAU Institute of Biomaterials

Zoya Hadzhieva, Marcela Arango Ospina and Prof. Aldo Boccaccini successfully organized the annual BBCE (Baltic Biomaterials Center of Excellence) summer school on scientific writing which took place in Erlangen from 10 to 14 October. This event is directed to early career researchers from different universities and research centres in Latvia. This year the summer school focused on the concept and design of academic posters and the art of English academic writing and storytelling. The participants had the opportunity to design and present their own scientific posters and write a text about their research topic. The summer school finished with a session on publishing in which Dr. Gaia Tomasello, editor at Wiley, gave a lecture on “Scientific publishing within the Advanced family: how to write for high-impact factor journals” and Prof. Aldo Boccaccini presented the talk on “Scientific publishing: the editor’s job”.
