Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Zoya Hadzhieva, Qaisar Nawaz (PhD students) attended the 7th European Symposium on Biomaterials and Related Areas BioMAT 2023, that took place in Weimar, Germany, on 3-4 May 2023, under the sponsorship of the German Materials Society (DGM) (co-chairs, Prof. K. Jandt, Jena, and Dr. T. Keller, Hamburg, pictured with Prof. Boccaccini). Prof. Boccaccini was a member of the scientific committee of the conference. Zoya Hadzhieva presented the talk “Electrophoretic deposition of zein-based coatings on titanium for biomedical applications” and Qaisar Nawaz presented the talk “Multifunctional SiO2-CaO based mesoporous bioactive glasses with therapeutic ion and biomolecule releasing capability”. At the conference, collaborators affiliated with the FunGlass Center based in Trencin, Slovakia, were also present.
