Prof. Boccaccini finishes his 8 year tenure as member of the Council of the Europen Society for Biomaterials (ESB)

Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini finished his 8 year tenure as member of the Council of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB). Prof. Boccaccini had been elected member of the ESB Council initially in 2015 for a period of 4 years. He was then reelected for the ESB Council in 2019, having served as ESB vice-president during the last 4 years. Previous functions of Prof. Boccaccini in the ESB Council were as liaison officer for the society journal and and for the Young Scientists Forum (YSF). At the end of the ESB General Assembly in Davos, Switzerland, on 7th September 2023, Prof. Boccaccini said: “It has been a privilege and an honor to serve as member of the ESB Council for 2 full complete periods. I am happy to have contributed to the continuity and growth of ESB in the last 8 years, particularly with the different initiatives and projects we started with the ESB presidents Matteo Santín, Pamela Habibovic and Ana Pego with whom I worked together. I thank all ESB members for the trust, in particular my colleagues of the German Society for Biomaterials (DGBM), for nominating me to the ESB Council back in 2015. I look forward to continuing participating and contributing to the activities of ESB in the coming years”.
