Strong participation of our Institute at ECERS 2025 conference in Dresden
Our Institute was well represented at the XIX Conference of the European Ceramic Society (ECERS 2025), held on 31st August-4th September 2025 in Dresden, Germany. Marcela Arango-Ospina, Zoya Hadzhieva presented the results of their project with the poster titled: “Effect of protein-containing simulated body fluid on the in vitro bioactivity of 45S5 bioactive glass”. Prof. Boccaccini was a leading co-organiser of the Symposium S10 “(Bio)ceramics, composites, and bioactive glasses for healthcare”. He chaired two sessions of this symposium. Prof. Boccaccini delivered the oral presentation “Ion releasing bioactive glasses as building blocks for ionic medicine and tissue engineering applications”. There were also meetings of the WG “BIoceramics” of the European Ceramic Society of which Prof. Boccaccini and Ms Arango-Ospina are members. We met also with our partners of the Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (FunGlass) and the Baltic Biomaterials Center of Excellence (BBCE), Latvia, Riga.
