Congratulations to Clara Dourado Fernandes on successfully defending her doctoral thesis titled “Enzymatic Synthesis of Aliphatic Polyesters for Application in Tissue Engineering: Development and Characterization of Nanofiber Mats with Bioactive Glasses” on 17th September 2025 (online). Clara carried out her doctoral project through a dual-degree (co-tutelle) program between the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil (supervised by Prof. Pedro Henrique Hermes de Araujo and Prof. Dr. Bruno Oechsler) and FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, under the supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. Several papers have been already published resulting from Clara’s thesis (for example ref. [1-2]). Many congratulations to Clara for the successful defense of her doctoral thesis, we wish her all the best in her future career.
