International Workshop on Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering in Colombia
The Institute of Biomaterials was represented by Marcela Arango Ospina at the International Workshop on Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering held at the National University of Colombia (UNAL) in Bogotá from October 1–3. Following an invitation to Prof. Boccaccini, who could not attend, Marcela represented superbly our Institute and delivered the talk “Bioactive Glasses for Tissue Engineering Applications.” The workshop was organized by Dr. Juan Jairo Vaca González (Assistant Professor, UNAL) and featured contributions from international partners, including the Institute of Multiphase Processes, Leibniz University Hannover (led by Prof. Birgit Glasmacher) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In addition, Marcela visited several facilities at UNAL and Andes University in Bogotá, where opportunities for collaborative research between groups in Germany and Colombia were discussed. The participation of Marcela in these activities was funded by the Office for equality and diversity of the Faculty of Engineering at FAU.
