Kick-Off Meeting of DFG-CONICET Collaborative Research Prokject on 3D-Printed Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration with Argentina
The kick-off meeting of our new collaborative research project entitled “Degradation Studies of Resorbable 3D-Printed Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration” was held online on 29th October. The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Argentinian Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). We look forward to working with Prof. Élida Beatriz Hermida, Dr. Beatriz Aráoz, and Ms. Evelina Pacheco from Lab3Bio at the National University of General San Martín in Argentina. From the Institute of Biomaterials, Prof. Aldo Boccaccini will lead the project together with Marcela Arango Ospina.
During the meeting, we discussed the goals of the project, which include developing and characterizing polymer-bioactive glass composite scaffolds manufactured through 3D printing, with a focus on studying their degradation behavior and biological response for applications in bone regeneration. We acknowledge DFG and CONICET for funding this important project and look forward to interesting outcomes from our collaboration.
