End-of-Year Meeting and Christmas Dinner 2025 at the Institute of Biomaterials
The End-of-Year Meeting and Christmas Dinner of the Institute of Biomaterials were held on 11 December 2025. Permanent staff, PhD students, postdocs, undergraduate students, academic visitors, and guests attended the event. Prof. Boccaccini gave a presentation summarizing the main achievements and activities of the Institute in 2025. He highlighted several successful initiatives and high-impact outcomes, including major funding acquisitions, the publication of more than 95 high-impact papers in 2025, and strong participation in major international conferences with contributed, invited, and keynote talks.
A special part of the presentation was dedicated to the awards and recognition received by members of the Institute throughout 2025. Several activities organized in collaboration with our EU partners at FunGlass (Trencin, Slovakia), BBCE (Riga, Latvia), and within the NANOBLOC and EngVIPO EU projects were also showcased. In terms of teaching and undergraduate supervision, more than 50 Master’s, Bachelor’s, and project students, including international ERASMUS students, completed their theses or research projects in our Institute during 2025. In addition, 11 doctoral theses were successfully completed, and we welcomed more than 30 academic visitors and international students from many countries around the world, confirming the strong international visibility of our Institute.
