Prof. Boccaccini listed in the Highly Ranked Scholars™ ranking.

Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini has been listed as one of the Highly Ranked Scholars™ in the ScholarGPS® platform. According to the webpage of ScholarGPS®, “Highly Ranked Scholars are the most productive authors (by number of publications) whose works demonstrate exceptional impact (citations) and outstanding quality (h-index). These scholars hold a ScholarGPS® Rank within the top 0.05% in any given Field, Discipline, or Specialty. It also mentions that the identification of ScholarGPS® Highly Ranked Scholars™ is based on lifetime or prior five-year activity, with each publication and citation weighted by the number of authors and self-citations excluded. All scholars—including inactive, deceased, and retired—are included in the analysis”. Details about the Ranking Terminology and Methodology are available here. In the speciality “Biomaterial” (Lifetime All, 2025), 86 scholars are listed worldwide, with Prof. Boccaccini at position 26, being the only researcher listed for Germany. Prof. Boccaccini said: “There are indeed many rankings based on publication metrics. Although these rankings are of course not the only indicator of overall quality, a high position in the rankings does reflect the impact our research has had in the field over the years, at least from the perspective of scholarly publications”.
