Congratulations to Usanee Pantulap on successfully defending her doctoral thesis entitled: “Development of borophosphosilicate-based bioactive glass scaffolds with osteogenic and angiogenic potential for bone regeneration applications” on 2nd March 2026. Usanee carried out her doctoral project at the Institute of Biomaterials under the supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. Prof. Boccaccini highlighted the extensive experimental work carried out by Usanee, generating interesting results in the field of boron containing bioactive glass scaffolds functionalized with ion releasing nanoparticles, gelatine and phytotherapeutics for bone tissue engineering. The Chair of the committee was Prof. Erdmann Spiecker (Department WW, FAU) and other members of the committee were Prof. Enrica Verné (Polytechnic of Turin, Italy), Prof. Andreas Arkudas (Unversity Hospital Erlangen) and Prof. Boccaccini. Different papers have resulted from Usanee’s work (for example [1]) and it is expected that other publications will follow. Many congratulations to Usanee on the successful defense of her doctoral thesis. We wish her all the best in her future career!
