With Dr. Priscila Toninatto Alves de Toledo, we visited the Dental Clinic 1 – Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology, at University Hospital Erlangen, where me met clinic director Prof. Kerstin Galler and Dr. Irina Prots. We have initiated a collaboration with the group of Prof. Galler in the framework of the FAPESP funded postdoctoral project of Dr. Priscila Toninatto Alves de Toledo, from the School of Dentistry of Bauru – USP – Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, currently hosted at our Institute of Biomaterials. The project focuses on the development of multifunctional electrospun nanofibrous membranes incorporating bioactive glass particles for the regeneration of mineralized tissues.
