Our bilateral project: “Development of injectable bioactive glass–hydrogel composites for osteoimmunomodulatory bone regeneration” with the group of Dr. Petra Kocánek Chocholatá at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University, Czech Republic, started on 8th May with the visit of Dr. Chocholatá to our Institute. The project is funded by Bayerisch-Tschechische Hochschulagentur (BTHA) / Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (BAYHOST). Dr. Chocholatá presented the talk “Hydrogel scaffolds for bone tissue engineering”. We discussed with Petra the first results of our collaborative project, led on our side by Hannah Kissel and Andrada-Ioana Damian-Buda (PhD students), focusing on bioactive glass nanoparticles incorporated into injectable hydrogels for bone regeneration. We are looking forward to the next steps of this exciting project, which involves the visit of members of our Institute to the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University.
