On 9-11 June 2026, we received the visit of Prof. Daniela Becker from the Mechanical Engineering Department and Prof. Marcia Margarete Meier from the Chemistry Department at Santa Catarina State University – UDESC, Joinville, SC, Brazil. Prof. Becker was an academic visitor in our Institute last year and we are currently collaborating in several projects related to the application of electrophoretic deposition (EPD) to deposit biopolymer-bioactive glass composite coatings on polymeric scaffolds based on the projects of Ms Bruna Segat, Luis Rosa and Jessica Cardinali, currently visiting students in our Institute. Our previous work has been just published [1]. With Prof. Meier we discussed expanding the collaboration to include bacterial cellulose based biomaterials. We look forward to continue this successful international collaboration!
