Prof. Boccaccini: invited speaker at the first Mini-symposium of the Erlangen Initiative 3R – Replace, Reduce, Refine – ERI3R

On 6th July, Prof. Boccaccini was an invited speaker at the first Mini-symposium of the Erlangen Initiative 3R – Replace, Reduce, Refine – ERI3R, organised by Dr. Elisabeth Zinser and Prof. Benjamin Frey, on behalf of the FAU working group ERI3R. Prof. Boccaccini presented the talk “Bioprinting models” introducing the potential of the biomaterials, tissue engineering and biofabrication fields to advance the principles of the Replace, Reduce, Refine (3Rs) approach. The working group ERI3R plans and coordinates the scientific and organizational development of the 3R principles and actively promotes networking within the biomedical research community at FAU and University Hospital Erlangen. It was an insightful and fruitful first symposium for this important initiative at FAU, attended by several members of our Institute, and of the TRR225 Collaborative Research Center (all pictured).
