Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini presented a Plenary Lecture in the inaugural session of the “5th Conference on Biomaterials and Novel Technologies for Healthcare” (BioMaH), which took place at the Italian National Research Council Headquarters in Rome, Italy (13-16 October 2026). Prof. Boccaccini is one of the presidents of the BioMaH conference series, together with Prof. Iulian Antoniac (Romania), while the conference series’ Chair is Dr. Julietta Rau (Italy). Prof. Boccaccini presented the keynote lecture “BIOACTIVE GLASSES AND IONIC MEDICINE: PROGRESS AND CHALLENGES”. Our Institute was also represented by Dr. Zoya Hadzhieva and Marcela Arango Ospina (PhD student) who presented posters with the latest results of her projects, namely “SOL-GEL DERIVED BORATE BIOACTIVE GLASS–CHITOSAN COMPOSITE COATINGS FABRICATED BY ELECTROPHORETIC DEPOSITION (EPD) FOR BONE REGENERATION APPLICATIONS” and “BIORESORBABLE 3D-PRINTED SCAFFOLDS WITH BIOACTIVE GLASS AND PHBV FOR BONE TISSUE REGENERATION”, respectively.
