Bioactive glass containing polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHAs) fibrous scaffolds: development and characterization

Betreuer (in Erlangen): Dr. Liliana Liverani, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini

The incorporation of bioactive glasses particles in polymeric electrospun fibers has been already investigated for several polymers, such as poly(e-caprolactone) and its blends [1]. The aim of this thesis is the fabrication and the characterization of composite electrospun fibers with polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHAs) matrix, containing bioactive glasses (BG) particles of different chemical compositions, intended for bone tissue engineering or wound healing applications.
