Enhancement of the mechanical performance of PCL/gelatin electrospun scaffolds for tendon regeneration

Betreuer: Francesco Iorio, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini

The study will focus on the production and characterization of polycaprolactone/gelatin scaffolds, a typical blend employed in tissue
engineering for tendon regeneration /1/, fabricated through the electrospinning technique in a benign solvent system. Combinations of
chemical and physical non-toxic crosslinking methods and the optimal incorporation will be evaluated in the attempt of tailoring the mechanical properties of the scaffolds to the
requirements for tendon regeneration /2/.
