Ms Pooja Basnett (pictured with Prof. Boccaccini) completed successfully her PhD project at the University of Westminster, London, UK, under supervision of Dr. Ipsita Roy (Head of Applied Biotechnology Research Group, Department of Molecular and Applied Biosciences, University of Westminster) and with Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (visiting professor at Imperial College London, UK) as co-supervisor. Pooja carried out a research project in the field of “Biosynthesis of polyhydroxyoctanoates, their novel blends and composites for biomedical applications” A recent publication from Pooja’s project is: Basnett, P., et al., Aspirin-loaded P(3HO)/P(3HB) blend films: potential materials for biodegradable drug eluting stents, Bioinspired, Biomimetic and Nanobiomaterials 2 (2013) 141-153.
