Visit from Portugal
In June 2019 we received the visit of Ms Viviana Gomes (graduate student at Department of Materials & Ceramic Engineering,) University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal, in the group of Dr. Maria Helena Fernandes and Dr. Jose Carlos Almeida. We are collaborating with the research group at UA in the framework of a DAAD bilateral funded project on borosilicate sol-gel derived biomaterials involving also collaborators at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, Centre for Research in Ceramics and Composite Materials. The project focuses on a new family of hybrid borosilicate bioactive glasses for biomedical applications (e.g. wound healing and bone regeneration).
