Susanne Heid, Jonas Hazur, Emine Karakaya (PhD students), Dr. Rainer Detsch and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini attended the retreat of the Collaborative Research Centre TRR/SFB 225 “From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models”, held online on 6-9 October 2020. TRR225 has received funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is investigating fundamentals of biofabrication and its systematic exploitation to generate functional human tissue models in a 12-year perspective. Researchers from three Universities (University of Würzburg, University of Bayreuth and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg) are involved in the consortium, which has complementary support of the State of Bavaria (Bavarian Polymer Institute). In SFB TRR 225, Prof. Boccaccini is the spokesperson for the site Erlangen, which includes active principal investigators from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and the University Hospital Erlangen (UKER). Prof. Boccaccini is also a member of the TRR225 board.
