We are happy to welcome Dr. Öznur Demir-Oguz and Mr. Abhishek Indurkar, researchers at the Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence (BBCE), based in Riga, Latvia, for their period of research training in our Institute. Dr. Öznur Demir-Oguz from Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre, Riga Technical University (RTU), Latvia, will carry out a project in the field of injectable CaP bioceramics for bone regeneration while Mr Abhishek Indurkar (PhD student, main supervisor Prof. Janis Locs, RTU) will work on hydrogel composites for bone tissue regeneration. The training in our Institute will be supervised by Dr. Liliana Liverani and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. BBCE project´s main objective is to establish a joint Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence for advanced biomaterials development based on the long-term strategic cooperation between Latvian institutions and international partners AO Research Institute Davos, Switzerland (ARI) and our Institute at FAU.
