*3rd Edition of “Tissue Engineering using Ceramics and Polymers” published*
The third edition of the successful book series “Tissue Engineering using Ceramics and Polymers” has been just published, co-edited by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU Institute of Biomaterials), Prof. Peter X. Ma (University of Michigan, USA), and Dr. Liliana Liverani (FAU Institute of Biomaterials). The previous editions were published in 2007 and 2014, Boccaccini has been a co-editor of the three editions. The book is unique in that it covers comprehensively tissue engineering approaches with focus on the biomaterials used for the scaffolds, including polymers, ceramics and composites. The book has more than 800 pages including 23 chapters witten by recognised experts in the field (61 co-authors). The chatpers are grouped into three sections: i) General issues: Materials, ii) General issues: Processing and characterization, iii) Tissue and organ regeneration. The foreword was written by Prof. Luigi Ambrosio, National Research Council, Naples, Italy, former president of the European Society for Biomaterials. The book was published by Elsevier /Woodhead Publishing both as paperback and eBook.
