We are currently hosting three JECS Trust  fellowship holders at the Institute of Biomaterials. Dr. Monica Furko, Institute for Technical Physics and Materials Science, Centre for Energy Research Eötvös Loránd Research Network (ELKH), Hungary,  is characterizing the cytocompatibility and antibacterial activity of ionic doped calcium phosphate/biopolymer composite coatings, Mr Susanta Sengupta (PhD student at FunGlass Centre, Trencin Slovakia), developed biopolymer-bioactive glass composite fibers for tissue engineering, and Ms Fulden Dogrul (PhD student, FunGlass Center, Trencin, Slovakia), will characterize the cell biology response of 3D bioactive ceramic scaffolds intended for bone regeneration. The JECS Trust was set up in 2007 to oversee the expenditure of funds passed on to the European Ceramic Society (ECerS) by the Society’s Journal and by its publisher, Elsevier.
