The kick-off meeting of our new DFG funded 3-year project “Osteogenic and angiogenic potential of mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles doped with molybdenum and boron” took place online on 25th July. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Fabian Westhauser and his team at Center of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Spinal Cord Injury, Heidelberg University Hospital. The project will investigate a new family of mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles incorporating biologically active ions, looking at understanding synergistic cell biology effects of the two ions when they are released in a controlled manner on osteogenic and angiogenic potential of scaffolds.
