Prof. Bikramjit Basu, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awardee, gives invited talk at the Institute of Biomaterials

On 16th March 2023, Prof. Bikramjit Basu, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, presented the invited talk “Biophysical stimulation of stem cells on functional biomaterials: in vitro and in silico studies” at the Institute of Biomaterials. Prof. Basu, who received the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation award 2022, has been a visiting professor in our Institute since September 2022 and we have started several new collaborative projects with him and his team. In addition, he co-organized with Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini the Indo-German Workshop BIODENT, “Design and manufacturing of biomaterials and implants for dental, cranio-maxillofacial reconstruction and bone regeneration” on 13-15 February 2023 at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Institute of Biomaterials, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Prof. Boccaccini said: “I am very happy that Bikramjit chose our Institute to spend 6 months of his sabbatical period, having been successful with the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation Award. These last 6 months working together have been very fruitful and several new projects have been initiated in collaboration with our PhD and Master students. Bikramjit gave also several lectures to our students. I would like to highlight the support of the AvH Foundation that enables bring to Germany top scientists like Prof. Basu.”
