Dr. Qaisar Nawaz, Dr. Sara Pourshahrestani, Ms Rezvan Azari (PhD student) and Dr. Fatih Bastan (visiting researcher) attended the 33rd Symposium and Annual Meeting of the International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) BIoceramics 33 which took place in Solothurn, Switzerland, on 17-20 October 2023. There was an opportunity to meet colleagues collaborating in EU projects BBCE and FunGlass. Other presentation in collaboration with our Institute was the one of Dr. Kulwinder Kaur (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland).

Summary of our contributions:
Dr. Qaisar Nawaz (oral presentation): “Fabrication and characterizations of hybrid scaffolds containing PCL-mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles for bone tissue regeneration”
Dr. Sara Pourshahrestani (poster presentation): “Tannic acid-loaded mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles doped with copper: Potential application for wound healing”
Ms Rezvan Azari (poster presentation): “The effect of process temperature on EPD-derived bioactive composite coatings for orthopedic application”
Dr. Fatih Bastan (oral presentation): “Bioinspired Hierarchical Chitosan/Hydroxyapatite Layers: Design of Experiment Optimization and In-Vitro Bioactivity Investigation
