The 6th Scientific Seminar of the “TOPbiomat” project (“Bioactive materials, cell and tissue printing: New therapeutic approaches for organ level tissue engineering and regenerative medicine”) of the Emerging Fields Initiative of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg took place on 19th March 2013 at the Biologikum, FAU, hosted by Prof. U. Sonnewald (Biochemistry, Department Biology, FAU) and Prof. A. R. Boccaccini (Institute of Biomaterials, FAU). The program of the seminar is here. The invited speaker was Dr. U. Conrad (Dept. of Molecular Genetics, Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Researcher, Stadt Seeland, Sachsen-Anhalt) who delivered a lecture on “Plant-based production, purification and characterisation of spider silk and elastin-like proteins”.
