Visit from Egypt
Dr Adel Francis, senior researcher at Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI), Helwan, Cairo, Egypt, is currently visiting our Institute with funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. We are collaborating with Dr Francis in the field of bioactive coatings on Mg alloys following established techniques [1]. This project is carried out in collaboration with Prof. Sannakaisa Virtanen (Institute for Surface Science and Corrosion). Previously, our collaboration with Dr Francis was in the field of functional glass-ceramics from combinations of silicate waste and sintering methods [2]. (Click image to enlarge)
