German Glass Society Annual Meeting in Bayreuth

Our Institute had active participation at the 92nd Annual Meeting of the German Society of Glass Technology in conjunction with the Annual Meetings of the Czech Glass Society & the Slovak Glass Society held in Bayreuth, Germany, from 28th to 30th May 2018, organiszed by the German Glass Society (DGG).

Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini was member of the organizing committee and the co-organizer, together with Prof. Delia Brauer (University of Jena), of the symposium “Glasses in Healthcare”. In this symposium the following oral presentations were given by members of our Institute: Dr. Kai Zheng: “Strategy for synthesis of cerium-containing mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles” (within EU project MOZART)

Ms Agata Lapa (PhD student): “Phosphate-based glasses and Phosphate glass fibres for Biomedical Application” (project within EU ITN HyMedPoly)

In addition a poster presentation entitled “Dissolution behavior of borate bioactive glasses and the influence of doping with Zinc and Copper in different solutions” was presented by Ms Katharina Schuhladen, PhD student, a project in collaboration with Prof. Leena Hupa (Abo Academy University, Turku, Finland).
