Last week we said “good bye” to Dr. Zulema Vargas and to Dr. Shahin Homaeigohar, who were academic visitors in our Institute.
Dr. Vargas was a post-doctoral researcher in our Institute in the framework of the training program for young scientists of the Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (FunGlass), Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia). Zulema worked for one year in our Institute on the development and characterisation of functional nanostructures for bone regeneration and wound healing applications. We thank Zulema for her contribution to the research activities of our Institute and wish all the best in her future activities at FunGlass. Dr. Shahin Homaeigohar was the holder a prestigious EU fellowship (Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship, Horizon 2020) from August 2019 until July 2020, and then, as assistant professor (lecturer) of Biomedical Engineering at University of Dundee (UoD) ,UK, he was an academic visitor in our Institute, working on smart nanofibrous wound dressings. We thank Shahin for his contributions to the activities of our Institute in this exciting field [1] and look forward to continue the collaborations.
