We are happy to announce that this year our Institute will start several research projects in collaboration with partners in Argentina. With the National Institute of Materials Technology (INTEMA), National University of Mar del Plata, we will start the project “Enhancing stainless steel implants: protective, antibacterial and bioactive coatings by spray and electrophoretic deposition techniques”, funded by the CONICET- BAYLAT scheme, collaborating with Prof. Josefina Ballarre and her team. This new project will expand our previous successful research collaboration [1]. Funded by DAAD in the “Project-Related Personal Exchange (PPP)” program, we will initiate a collaboration with Dr. Betiana Lerner and her team at Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas – Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (CONICET – UTN), in the field of “Bioactive glass integrated with microfluidic devices for biomedical applications”. Finally, we will receive the visit of Prof. Viviana Mouriño, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Buenos Aires, in the framework of the visiting professors program of the FAU Faculty of Engineering. Her visit will prompt the start of a new research project in the field of bioactive glasses and phytotherapeutic release platforms, following our successful previous collaborative research [2].
