Best doctoral thesis award of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering for Dr. Katharina Schuhladen
We are happy to announce that Dr. Katharina Schuhladen received the award for best doctoral thesis 20/21 of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. This is a new annual award of the WW Department to recognize two outstanding doctoral theses carried out in any of the nine Institutes of the Department in the previous year. Katharina earned her doctoral degree with a thesis entitled: “Development of multifunctional wound dressings by using newly designed ion-doped borosilicate and borate bioactive glasses”, which she defended in September 2020 and was carried out at the Institute of Biomaterials under supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. Congratulations !
