Dr. Rainer Detsch, Ms Susanne Heid (PhD student) and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini attended the progress meeting of the Collaborative Research Centre TRR/SFB 225 “From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models” held in hybrid form on 15-17 March 2022 in Kloster Banz, Germany. The Centre has received funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a second funding period (2022-2025). The research activities in TRR225 involve strong collaboration of three Universities (University of Würzburg, University of Bayreuth and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg) with complementary support of the State of Bavaria (Bavarian Polymer Institute) to investigated fundamentals of biofabrication and its systematic application to generate functional human tissue models in a 12-year perspective. Prof. Boccaccini was elected as the spokesperson for the site Erlangen, which includes active principal investigators from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and the University Hospital Erlangen (UKER). Prof. Boccaccini is also a member of the TRR225 board.
