Kick-off meeting of EU (Horizon Europe) project Nanobloc in Turin (Italy)

The kick-off meeting of the EU (Horizon Europe) project Nanobloc(R) took place at Polytechnic of Turin (POLITO), Italy on 16-18 January 2023. This project involves the collaboration of three academic partners (Polytechnic of Turin, University of Turin and our Institute at FAU) and several industrial partners from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. It is coordinated by Prof. Monica Ferraris of the Department of Applied Science and Technology (Glasses, Ceramics and Composites) at POLITO. The project will develop and characterize novel nanostructured antibacterial coatings for a variety of applications. Our Institute will be involved in the developmend of sol-gel derived and electrophoretic coatings. Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (principal investigator) and Ms Zoya Hadzhieva attended the meeting. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under grant agreement nr. 101057597.
