Prof. Boccaccini chaired the European Materials Day organised by the German Materials Society
On 10th Nov. 2023, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini chaired the Germany chapter of the European Materials Day, organised by the German Materials Society (DGM), under the auspices of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS). The European Materials Day is an event celebrating excellence in materials science and engineering by recently graduated Master students. The event included eight oral presentation (online) from Master students who recently completed their Master theses in a group or under supervision of a researcher member of the DGM. The winner (Oliver Preuß, TU Darmstadt) will represent DGM at the final Master thesis event at the Junior Euromat conference, to be held in Manchester, England, in July 2024. Markus Lorke, currently PhD student in our Institute, presented his Master thesis entitled “Behavior of primary neurons in OHA-based hydrogels dependency of the matrix stiffness”, which was carried out under supervision of Ms Sonja Kuth and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini in our Institute. Markus obtained the third prize. Congratulations!
