Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini celebrates 25 years as member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3)

In 2023, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini marks 25 years of continuous membership of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), based in London, UK. He started his membership in October 1998 as he was a post-doctoral researcher at TU Ilmenau (Germany). He was then elected Fellow of IOM3 (FIMMM) in 2004. Prof. Boccaccini said: “I am very proud of having been an active member of IOM3 for 25 years. The Institute has been a constant companion of my career, not only during the years I spent at Imperial College London, offering a very effective platform for networking and supporting the interaction with experts in the materials field from both academia and industry. I am also grateful for the recognition and awards received from IOM3 in different stages of my career”. Prof. Boccaccini was the recipient of the prestigious the following IOM3 awards: Verulam Medal and Prize (2003), Ιvor Jenkins Medal (2010), Pfeil Award (2016). He has been a member of the Council of the London Materials Society (LMS), the London chapter of IOM3, since 2003, and he was chairman of the LMS Council in the period 2005-2006. He serves currently as LMS international representative.
