Prof. Boccaccini chaired the first meeting in 2024 of the Board of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS)
Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini chaired the first meeting of the year of the Board of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS), which took place online on 12th February 2024. Prof. Boccaccini is the president of FEMS for the period 2024-2025 and represents the German Materials Society (DGM) in the FEMS Board (since 2017). Boccaccini is also Section Editor (“Biomaterials for life science and healthcare”) in the European Journal of Materials (EJM) the official journal of FEMS. FEMS is a not-for profit association of European materials societies and associations covering several fields of materials science and engineering, including metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, glasses, nano and biomaterials in 22 different countries. The next large conference to be organised under the auspices of FEMS is Junior Euromat 2024 which will take place in Manchester, England on 15-18 July 2024, hosted by the IOM3. The Board members represeting the materials societies from Portugal, Spain. Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Italy attended the meeting.
