Prof. Thomas Moskalewicz, from Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science, AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland, visited the Institute of Biomaterials on 5th March. Prof. Moskalewicz  and Prof. Boccaccini are the principal investigators of the new project entitled: “Development of electrophoretic co-deposition of bioactive and antibacterial ceramics with biodegradable polymers to produce novel composite coatings for biomedical applications”, which has received funding from the German Science Foundation (DFG)  and the National Science Centre (NCN) (Poland) in the context of the recent Call “Beethoven Classic 3”. The project will develop, by electrophoretic deposition, a variety of composite coatings with dual bioactive and antibacterial capability for orthopedic and dental applications.
