This week we said “good bye” to Fatih Kurtuldu and Nurshen Mutlu, who have been visiting PhD students in our Institute for more than 1 year. They visited our Institute in the framework of the training program for young scientists of the Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (FunGlass),Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia), coordinated at FAU by Dr. Liliana Liverani.  Nurshen and Fatih are enrolled as PhD students at both Universities and are being co-supervised in co-tutelle by Prof. Dusan Galusek (University of Trenčín) and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU). Their projects involve the development and characterisation of mesoporous bioactive glasses for drug delivery and bone regeneration (Fatih) and polymer-bioactive glass composites for wound healing (Nurshen). We wish them both all the best in their future research activities.
